Princess Atsuko (淳子女王)

Princess Atsuko (also known as Junshi) (year of birth and death unknown) was a member of the Imperial Family during the latter half of the Heian period. She was the great-grandchild of Emperor Sanjo. She was a princess with Sanbon (the third rank for an Imperial Princess) Shikibukyo no Miya (the Highness of Ceremonies) Imperial Prince Atsukata (prince of Koichijoin Imperial Prince Atsuakira). Her mother was the daughter of MINAMOTO no Chikakata. Ise Saigu (vestal virgin princess serving at Ise-jingu Shrine). Imperial Princess Kyoshi and Zoken were her siblings.

On April 2, 1073, in the reign of Emperor Shirakawa, she was designated as Ise Saigu (vestal virgin princess serving at Ise-jingu Shrine) by bokujo (decided by fortunetelling).
On September 12, 1077, she was mourning for her father, Imperial Prince Atsukata, and was determined to resign after serving for five years
On December 17, in 1077, she was dispatched to Ise in order to help the benkan (officials of the dajokan), FUJIWARA no Suenaka, welcomed Princess Atsuko, and on January 1, 1078, she went back to Kyoto with him. Nothing was heard of her after this.
